Maria Hutt

A Toronto native, Maria earned her bachelor’s degree with high distinction from the University of Toronto.  She earned her J.D. degree from the University of California Irvine School of Law, where she was a member of the UCI Law Review and the UCI Journal of International, Transnational, and Comparative Law.

During law school, Maria also competed in the 2022 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, where she placed in the top 25% of all oralists.  She spearheaded the expansion of UCI’s mock trial program to compete at the national level for the first time, where she placed as a Finalist at the Texas Young Lawyers’ Association National Trial Competition Southern California Regionals 2023.

She was admitted to the California bar in 2023 and is currently a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, and Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.  In 2024, Maria was admitted to practice in the Central and Southern Districts of California.  After acting as a founding member of the University of Toronto American Mock Trial team in 2020, Maria remains involved as a volunteer coach.  This is the only international team to compete in the American Mock Trial Association.
